• Description:

    The Epidemiology Fellowship Programme in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR) aims to strengthen the skills of young epidemiologists from low- and middle-income countries within the region. This six-month fellowship, with a potential extension, is designed to provide hands-on experience and exposure to outbreak management and health systems within WHO’s technical programs.

    Participants will be assigned to WHO country offices in their home countries, working closely with experts to gain real-world insights into public health strategies at national, regional, and global levels

    Qualifications 

    1. Postgraduate degree in public health, outbreak management, or epidemiology.
    2. Proficiency in data analysis and commonly used software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    3. Knowledge of statistical software like XLStat is a plus. Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills aligned with WHO’s core competencies.
    4. Minimum of 2 years in relevant fields, including. Outbreak or health emergency management. Research and report drafting.
    5. Field or academic work in health systems or epidemiology. Data visualization and analysis for health system performance
