• Description:

The School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh is offering a prestigious PhD scholarship opportunity focused on developing a detailed physics-based mathematical model of water electrolysers to enhance efficiency, performance, and durability in hydrogen production from renewable energy sources.

The selected candidate will be responsible for developing an electrochemical model of an electrolysis cell to simulate thermofluid interactions, two-phase transport, and electrochemical processes within a single-cell geometry. This role will involve model validation, identifying barriers, and proposing mitigation strategies for water electrolysers.
