    Master’s or PhD Funded Position in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Minnesota; The University of Minnesota, often referred to simply as the U of M, is a public research university system with its flagship campus in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The U of M offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. The Twin Cities campus alone has over 100 majors across 19 colleges. Known for its significant research output, the university is classified among “R1: Doctoral Universities – Very High Research Activity.” It has numerous research centers, including the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute and the Institute on the Environment.

    The Department of Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Minnesota is part of the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) on the Twin Cities campus. It hosts several labs and centers, such as the Food Science and Nutrition Pilot Plant (for scale-up experiments), Sensory Analysis Center, and various research kitchens.

    We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Master’s or Ph.D. student to join my research group in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Minnesota. The project will focus on upcycling food and agricultural byproducts to develop innovative food ingredients.
