Description: The Yu Laboratory, currently at Indiana University Bloomington, is seeking two Postdoctoral Fellows to join its dynamic research team. The lab will be relocating to Washington University at St. Louis (WashU) in July 2025, and the selected candidates will be expected to move to WashU at that time. The primary research focus involves employing optical imaging and nanotechnology-based tools to investigate immune cell functions, including membrane organization and endocytosis.
The successful candidates will be involved in cutting-edge research projects using advanced optical imaging and nanotechnology to explore the mechanisms of immune cell functions. Responsibilities will include designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating with other team members. The initial appointment is for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability. A competitive salary and benefits package will be provided.
Eligibility
- Ph.D. in a related discipline by the start of the appointment. Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- High-resolution fluorescence imaging (candidates with strong expertise in optics are not required to have experience in cell studies).
- Cell biology and biophysics, with an emphasis on cell membranes, membrane receptors, and intracellular membrane organelles. Immunology and immune engineering. Mechanobiology.
- Bioanalytical chemistry, particularly in developing cell sensing techniques. Candidates with interdisciplinary backgrounds are encouraged to apply, as they can bring new ideas and technologies to the lab.
